Ravindra Jadeja has been included in the both ODI and Test squads for India's upcoming tour of Bangladesh. He missed the T20 World Cup owing to a knee injury. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul, who were rested for the New Zealand tour, will also return for the Bangladesh tour.
While Jasprit Bumrah is still unavailable for selection as he recovers from a back injury at the NCA, chief selector Chetan Sharma is confident that he would be ready for the home test series against Australia in February.
"The selection committee has to deal with workload management which we follow very closely. Now, we tried to hurry up Jasprit Bumrah, we tried to get him with the World Cup coming. And see what has happened? We are without Jasprit Bumrah in the World Cup. The NCA team and the medical team is looking after him very well. And he will definitely be part and parcel of the team very soon, in the sense definitely against Australia. But for Bangladesh we are little cautious with Jasprit Bumrah as opposed to like we tried to bring him back early. So we don't want to do that this time".
Cheteshwar Pujara has been included in the Test squad, but Ajinkya Rahane remains missing. Hardik Pandya has been rested for the Bangladesh tour. Yash Dayal received his maiden India call-up after playing for Gujarat Titans in the IPL and taking 11 wickets in nine games.
Rajat Patidar and Rahul Tripathi have been included in the ODI squad for the Bangladesh tour. India will play three ODIs and two Test matches against Bangladesh. The ODI series will start on December 4, while the Test series will start on December 14.
