The BCCI has confirmed its Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on October 18. Women's IPL is one of the most important agenda to be discussed in the meeting. BCCI is all set to start the Women's IPL from early next year and it is expected that BCCI will issue tenders for the media rights and sale of the franchises. It is expected to be a six-team event but the final decision on the tournament is expected at the AGM.
The elections to the office bearers: president, vice-president, secretary, joint secretary and treasurer are also on the agenda. The general body meeting will be held in Mumbai.
High on the priority will also be the election of India's representative at the International Cricket Council (ICC). The other key points on the agenda are the appointment of Ombudsman and Ethics officer, the appointment of Cricket Committee and Standing Committee and the appointment of Umpires committee.
Another important issue is "ICC tax matters". The ICC is expecting a tax exemption from the Indian government for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, which is scheduled to be held in India in late next year.
Another point on the list is to update on the recently concluded IPL media rights and the upcoming BCCI media rights. BCCI has sold the IPL media rights for a whopping price of INR 48,390 crore for five years. Disney- Star acquired the TV rights and Viacom 18 acquired the digital rights of the mega event.
Other points of the agenda are:-
- Election and induction of a representative of the general body in the apex council.
- Update on National Cricket academy matter.
- Update on infrastructure development initiatives undertaken by the BCCI in the North-Eastern region.
- Update on India's Future Tour Programme.
- Update on revised infrastructure Subsidy Policy.
- Induction of a representative of the ICA in the IPL governing council.
