Cricket Australia on Sunday announced a new deal to broadcast Australian home cricket and Big Bash League matches in India and other territories of Asia. As per the new agreement, Star Sports will broadcast Men's and Women's international matches played in Australia as well as the BBL and WBBL for the next seven years starting from the 2023/24 season. Sony Sports the current rights holders of Australian cricket will continue to telecast matches of the 2022/23 season, the new deal with Disney-Star will start from next year.
Disney Star recently won the TV rights of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for INR 23,575 crore. Disney- Star now holds the media rights of the ICC events, India's home matches, IPL, ACC events and home matches media rights of South Africa and Australia.
India will play five-match Test series in Australia in December and January 2024/25. Disney Star will also broadcast Australia's next home Ashes series in 2025/26.
