Durban Super Giants appoints Quinton de Kock as their skipper

South Africa's star wicket-keeper batter Quinton de Kock has been appointed as the skipper of Durban Super Giants in their domestic T20 league.

Durban based franchise have a good relationship with IPL's Lucknow franchise as being owned by same group and they have officially announced announced their decision.

Durban Super Giants will take part in South Africa's domestic T20 league and is owned by Sanjiv Goenka Group like Lucknow Super Giants. De Kock plays for LSG in IPL and performed magnificently for the franchise in their debut season.

He scored 508 runs at an average of 36.29 and strike rate of 148.97 in 15 matches and played a crucial role in their journey to the play offs. He also scored a century for LSG last season. De Kock is a proven star in several leagues he had been part of till now.

De Kock has a fair amount of experience in captaincy. He already has captained the national team in 4 Tests and 8 ODIs out of which he won 4 and lost 3 as a skipper. He also led South Africa in 11 T2OI matches but managed only 3 victories.

De Kock has scored 2156 runs at an average of 32.2 and strike rate of 135.4 in 77 T2OI career matches. The stats clearly clarify that he is a suited T2OI player.
