The 2nd semifinal of the ongoing T20 World Cup was played between England and India at the Adelaide Oval. England skipper Jos Buttler elected to bowl first after winning the toss.

India after batting first posted a total of 168/6 in their 20 overs. England on the other hand easily scored 170 runs in their 16 overs to clinch a 10-wicket victory. England will face Pakistan in the finals.

India after losing the toss were put into bat first and had a poor start to their inning. Opener KL Rahul was dismissed by Chris Woakes in the 2nd over for 5 runs in 5 balls.

India lost their 2nd wicket in the 9th over as skipper Rohit Sharma departed for 27 runs in 28 balls. Suryakumar Yadav who scored 14 runs in 10 balls with the help of a four and a six was the next to depart for India in the 12th over.

The men in blue suffered a huge blow when Virat Kohli was dismissed in the 18th over for 50 runs in 40 balls. Rishabh Pant was dismissed in the last over for 6 runs followed by Hardik Pandya's wicket in the very last ball of the inning.

He scored a brilliant inning of 63 runs in just 33 balls with the help of 4 fours and 5 sixes. Chris Jordan took 3 wickets with Adil Rashid and Chris Woakes getting a single wicket each for England.

Chasing the target, England had a remarkable start to their inning as opener Alex Hales started smashing the ball starlight away. He scored his half-century in just 28 balls. Skipper Jos Buttler and Hales put up an unbeaten 170-run partnership as England clinched the victory by 10 wickets.

Buttler scored an unbeaten 80 runs in 49 balls whereas Hales remained not out on 86 runs which he scored in 47 deliveries.
