Josh Inglis has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup owing to a hand injury he sustained while playing golf in Sydney on Wednesday. Cameron Green has been picked as his replacement in the squad. Australia will be without a backup wicketkeeper option for Matthew Wade.
The Australian selectors picked Green over Alex Carey, who is a like-for-like replacement for Inglis. Green impressed everyone during the three-match T20I series against India, scoring two quick half-centuries. Australia will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against New Zealand on Saturday in Sydney.

Reece Topley has also been ruled out of the T20 World Cup owing to ligament damage in his left ankle. Tymal Mills, who was in the travelling reserves, will take his position in the squad. Topley was injured while participating in a fielding drill before England's warm-up match against Pakistan in Brisbane.
Topley has taken 16 wickets in T20Is this year, with an average of 28 and an economy of 7.8. Mills had a great T20 World Cup in 2021, picking up seven wickets at an average of slightly over 15. He picked up 198 wickets in his T20 career. England's opening game will be against Afghanistan on Saturday in Perth.

Sri Lanka fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera has been also ruled out from the T20 World Cup due to a calf injury. Kasun Rajitha has been appointed as his replacement. Chameera was injured while bowling the final over of his spell and had to leave the field. He played an important role in Sri Lanka's victory over UAE in Geelong. Chameera also missed the Asia Cup due to a knee injury.
Danushka Gunathilaka is also out of the T20 World Cup due to a hamstring injury. Ashen Bandara, who was in the travelling reserves, will take his spot in the squad. Gunathilaka played in Sri Lanka's first T20 World Cup match against Namibia but missed the second match against UAE due to a hamstring injury.
