Pandya, Dhawan to lead India in T20Is and ODIs against New Zealand

Hardik Pandya and Shikhar Dhawan will captain the T20I and ODI sides against New Zealand, while Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul have been rested for the tour. Rishabh Pant has been named as vice-captain for the New Zealand tour.

Suryakumar Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Harshal Patel, and Arshdeep Singh have also been included in the T20I squad for the series against New Zealand. Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah, who both missed the ongoing T20 World Cup owing to injuries, have also been left out of the tour. Mohammad Shami has been rested from the tour to manage his workload.

Mohammad Siraj has been added to the T20I squad, while Deepak Chahar has been added to the ODI squad. Kuldeep Sen, who had a strong domestic season, was given his maiden India call-up. Prithvi Shaw, who has been in excellent form in the domestic circuit, has also been left out of the squad. He scored 285 runs at a strike rate of 191.27 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

The thing is - the players who are already playing and those who are performing, they have got their chances. He will definitely get his chance. India will play three T20Is and three ODIs against New Zealand starting on November 18. The first T20I will be played on November 18 in Wellington, and the first ODI will be played on November 25 in Auckland.
